There are a number of adventure sports such as climbing, caving and abseiling to enjoy as well as activities such as quad biking, clay shooting or watersports.

You can also enjoy cycling on miles of off-road cycling trails or exploring the miles of picturesque footpaths.

    Miles without Stiles routes, created by the Peak District National Park are suitable for people of all fitness levels and those with limited mobility, including wheelchair users, families with pushchairs and scooters and the visually impaired.

      Carsington Water

      Carsington Water is located between Matlock and Ashbourne and provides a great family day out with cycle trails, picnic area and an adventure playground. You can also take to the water and go sailing, windsurfing, kayaking or fishing.

        There are a number of Cycling Guides that have been produced by Derbyshire Dales including Ashbourne, Matlock, Bakewell and Hope Valley

          Go Ape!

          Go Ape is the UK’s number one forest adventure where you will fly down zip-wires, leap off Tarzan swings and tackle daring high rise crossings. Located at Buxton.

                Guided Walks

                Enjoy a guided walk in the Peak District. Led by qualified instructors you can venture off the beaten track, learn about local history or ensure you take in the best views. My Guided Walks offers walks and navigation training. 

                  Paintballing & Quad Biking

                  Wild Park Derbyshire is the Midlands’ premier paintball, laser tag and quad bike trekking centre and is located close by in Brailsford. They cater for both individuals and groups and offer  arange of exciting activitities on their purpose built adventure farm. 

                    Monsal Trail

                    The Monsal Trail is a traffic free route for walkers, cyclists and wheelchair users that runs for 8.5 miles between Blackwell Mill, in Chee Dale and Bakewell. There are two cycle hire centres:  Hassop Station cycle hire centre which also has a cafe and Blackwell Mill Cycle which is located near Buxton.

                      Tissington Trail & Manifold Valley

                      The Tissington Trail is the former Ashbourne to Buxton railway line. It is relatively flat and well surfaced with no road crossings and has great views over the White Peak. There are two cycle hire centres on the trail at Parsley Hay and AshbourneAsk reception about our guest discount.

                        Water Sports

                        There are numerous ways to explore the Peak District on the water. You could canoe down one of the picturesque canals, go rafting down the River Derwent or sailing at Carsington Water. Rapid Horizons or Peak and Paddles are local providers.
